A digital media company called FlyMyBiz in Kolkata has given paid menstrual leaves to women employees from January 1, 2019 becoming the first private company in Kolkata to do so.
According to Express, Samyo Datta, the founder-CEO of FlyMyBiz, said, “All the women employees in my company will get one extra leave every month. This means, starting from January 2019, they will have twelve holidays as their period leaves in addition to other holidays.”
After the announcement, Datta received an overwhelming response from the employees of his company. He thinks that this is a small act on his part to stand beside women. The initiative was also welcomed by the male employees, he said.
FlyMyBiz becomes the third company all over India, after two Mumbai-based companies to consider this move and gain laurels.
