Angul: About 40 passengers were injured, eight of them seriously, after the bus they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a truck on National Highway-55 near Tukuda under Jarpada police limits in Angul district Monday morning.
The accident occurred at 11.15 am. On hearing the collision, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers. On being informed, police reached the spot and with the help of local people sent the injured passengers to the district hospital.
The accident took place when the bus was on its way from Boudh to Angul.
