Jeypore: Jeypore police foiled a robbery bid and arrested two persons at Hatibari Gooda village under the police limits in late Tuesday night. The arrested were identified as PJ Johnson and Sushant Maharana.
According to sources, the police were tipped off that the gang was making a blueprint of robbery and had assembled near the village. Based on the inputs, the police conducted a raid at the site and nabbed the two most wanted for Koraput district police. However, three members of the gang escaped from the spot.
The police also seized a motorcycle, a sword, chili powder and other weapons from them. More than 15 cases including robbery and riot are pending against Jhonshon at various police stations in the district while two cases are pending against Maharana, informed OPS Snehasish Sahoo.
