Keonjhar: A minor boy was allegedly beaten to death by his friends at Salachua village under Mahulidian police limits here in the district, Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Bijay Kumar Nayak.
According to Bijay’s family, the boy along with his friends had gone to visit Barkuti mela Tuesday but did not return home till late evening. A search was launched for the missing boy and later, family members found him lying critically injured from a nearby area. They took him to Anandapur hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
Bijay’s family members alleged that he was murdered by his friends during an altercation. A police complaint has been launched in this connection and probe is underway.
