Khuntuni: A deer was found dead on the national highway near Bali-Baula village under the forest range here Friday. Passersby, who spotted the carcass in a pool of blood, informed the forest officials.
“A team of forest officials, including Oranda forester Rakesh Dalai and forest guard Ramakanta Balabantray, rushed to the spot and arranged for its post-mortem,” said range officer Maguni Behera who also accompanied the team before burial of the carcass. The herbivore was around four-year-old, Behera added.
