CM dedicates projects worth Rs 1,005cr

Baripada/Rairangpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Sunday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a host of welfare projects during his visit to Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.
With the elections round the corner, he made three major announcements for the people of Rairagpur sub-division – upgradation of the sub-divisional hospital with 100 beds, a stadium and appointment of an ADM.
Speaking at a Mission Shakti convention at Mahuladiha Ground in Rairangpur, the Chief Ministwer inaugurated 21 welfare projects worth `45.05 crore and also laid foundation stones of 15 projects worth `960.34 crore for Rairangpur and Karajia sub-divisions.
Under the Mission Shakti programme, the CM handed over seed money of `16 crore to 7,453 SHGs in 12 blocks.
In addition, 7,000 women were provided `3,000 each as part of digital empowerment initiative of the state government to purchase smart phones. He also inaugurated two high-level bridges over Balijod canal on Baripada-Bamanghati road, a 50-bedded special centre at Karajia Sub-Divisional Hospital and two child and mother care centres in Thakurmunda Community Health Centre (CHC).
Later, he attended KALIA Samavesh at Pandapada in Keonjhar district and inaugurated 17 welfare projects worth Rs 66 crore and laid foundation stones of 47 projects worth Rs 2,100 crore.
Patnaik laid foundation for residential houses of Keonjhar police department, 50-seated skill development and training centre, girls’ and boys’ hostels in Dharanidhar Autonomous College, piped water supply project.
The projects inaugurated by the CM included a Rs 5-cr bridge at Bamanghati, Rs 6.87-cr Balijoda bridge at Saraskana, Rs 8.04-cr 50-bed maternity welfare centre at Karanjia, Rs 5.45-cr 30-bed maternity welfare centre at Thakurmunda, Rs 2.59-cr Guria bridge at in Rairangpur, Rs 1.7-cr drinking water project at Purnaupani and three other drinking water projects at other places.

Keonjhar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Sunday announced the “KALIA Chhatra Bruti’, which will provide scholarships to the children of the KALIA scheme beneficiaries for pursuing higher education. Patnaik said the government has launched the ‘KALIA Chhatra Bruti’ programme so that the children of the farmers excel in the future. Under the scholarship scheme, the government will bear the educational expenses of the children of the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) beneficiaries, who are studying in government professional colleges on merit, a statement said.
