Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, a three-year-old was left battling for life after she was reportedly raped by a minor of the locality under Marine police limits in this district, Friday.
The accused minor is neighbour of the victim, police said.
Acting on a complaint by the baby’s family, police registered a case and arrested the minor. He was then sent for a medical examination and will be produced before the court, IIC Ram Kumar Murmu said.
According to police, the minor spotted the baby girl playing alone near the house while her parents were busy in some work. He lured the girl and took her to an isolated place where he outraged her modesty.
The girl’s mother spotted her crying in pain with her private parts bleedings and informed her husband who then lodged a complaint with the local police. A case has been registered and a further probe is on, IIC Murmu said.
