Cuttack, April 28: Paramount Sporting registered a convincing five-wicket victory over Prashant Cricket Academy (PCA) to enter the quarterfinals of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Medical Ground here Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, PCA scored 130 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 40 overs with Satya Sanjay Pasayat (40, 58b, 3×4) emerging as the highest scorer. Farhat Khan (2/24) and Sourav Gouda (2/27) bowled a restrictive line.
In reply, Paramount cruised home in 28.1 overs only for the loss of five wickets with contributions from Sourav (29, 40b, 2×4) and Mrinal Parida (25, 36b, 2×4). Sourav was adjudged the man of the match for his all-round performance.
Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by Sanghamitra Bose, wife of the late Sumit Bose.
