An alternative system of medicine, known as ‘Beach Sand Therapy’, is gaining popularity in parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
As a part of the therapy, the patient is buried up to his/her neck in the sand for about half-an-hour. People claim many diseases, even chronic ones, can be cured. The therapy is thousands of years old, but has been neglected.
Here people believe that this will make their children strong. They will not be affected of any diseases in future. While many might dismiss it as an absurd practice, many people have noticed remarkable improvement in their condition.
Locals claimed that beach sand has a special mixture of minerals which can help relieve aching bones and joints and invigorate the body, mind and soul.
