Bolangir: Passengers of a people carrier bus had a narrow escape as it ran into a roadside shop near Kandhabahal village under Kantabanji police limits in this district Sunday morning.
Fortunately, there was no one at the shop when the mishap occurred. Nor were any passengers hurt.
According to sources, the man behind the wheel lost control on the vehicle while it was heading to Khariar from Bhubaneswar.
However, the incident fumed the local residents who staged a read blockade disrupting traffic on the stretch for hours. They demanded speed breakers on the road, alleging the stretch sans speed breaker is witnessing accidents frequently.
The road blockade continued until the intervention of Kantabanji police who assuaged the agitating people.
