Bhubaneswar, May 23: The Commissionerate Police has prepared dossiers about the criminal antecedents of some history-sheeters of the twin cities.
“We have prepared dossiers about the persons having criminal antecedents. We’ve collected detailed information about such persons so that we can keep tabs on them,” twin city police commissioner Rajendra Prasad Sharma told Orissa POST.
“Curbing organised crime is our top priority. We are hawk-eyed on the miscreants who were involved in robbery, arms trading, murder and other crimes,” Sharma said.
“I have asked all the police stations to gather intelligence about the activities of the miscreants in the area. I have also instructed the quick action team (QAT) and the special squad to gather intelligence about the persons having criminal antecedents,” he added.
The commissioner said the reason behind issuing the directive was to maintain the law and order situation in the twin cities.
According to sources, the police commissioner had held a meeting with top police officials May 22 and discussed with them ways to improve intelligence gathering.
