Kids showered love and affection on their mothers at a special Mother’s Day event organised by Esplanade One mall in association with Orissa Post
BHUBANESWAR: Showering of gifts, salon visits, movie dates, dinner parties and unique ballets marked Mother’s Day celebrations here Sunday. A special observance was also organised by Esplanade One in collaboration with Orissa Post on the occasion.
Katherine, a British citizen, who was on a tour in the city along with her Kids Mirinda and Betty, had a field day as her kids grabbed all the toys they could to gift her. She said, “I am simply bowled over as my five-year-old daughter Mirinda bought me a Captain America doll which she finds to be quite cool. I am really lost for words after her sweet gesture.” Orissa Post interacted with similarly elated mothers at the mall which was packed with a jovial crowd.
Rohini, Sarika and Amisha too had a great time at the mall where they shopped for their mother Rohini. “I have visited a mall after a long time where my kids are buying me my favourite outfit,” said a teary-eyed Rohini. The mall had a special offer of free salon treatment and movie tickets on shopping worth Rs 5,000. Clients made a beeline to avail the offer.
From expensive ladies watches to cosmetics and bags, all shopping corners were flooded with clients who shopped for their mothers. A selfie competition was organised on the dais meant for celebration of Mother’s Day. Shyama Jha, marketing head, Esplanade One said, “We have a special Mother’s day offer at the mall and beautiful surprises for their kids too.”
A visitor Nibedita Bisoi said, “I have come here with my in-laws. However, it’s my kids that are making the day a wonderful one for me.” The Ferns and Petal outlet was seen working hard to keep the pace with orders of flower bouquets and cakes both online and offline. Supervisor of the shop Sanjib said, “This particular day has already made us deliver more than 350 bouquets until now along with chocolates and cake orders. The new trend of celebrating Mother’s Day on a grand measure has truly helped us to establish our service. Rose, carnitions and Tulips are selling like hot cakes.”
