Boudh: Police Friday detained a young man for allegedly killing his father at Saranda village under Murushundhi panchayat near Boudh town.
According to sources, 45 years old Sadashiv Patra had returned home in an inebriated condition Thursday night. He then entered into an altercation with his wife Jashobanti over some reason. Later, he picked up a knife and ran after his wife and son Ashis (19). It took an ugly turn when Sadashiv and Ashis engaged in a fisticuff during which the former fell on the ground and accidentally the knife he was holding pierced into his neck, informed Jashobanti.
On being informed, police reached the spot Friday morning and have launched an investigation.
“Ashis has been detained and an investigation has been launched to ascertain whether Jashobanta’s claim has any veracity,” police said.
