Baliguda: Former Congress MLA from Baliguda Assembly constituency Sahura Mallick passed way at Baliguda hospital of Kandhamal district here Friday. He was 85.
Family sources said, he had been suffering from age related ailments. Friday morning he was rushed to the hospital after he complained of uneasiness. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
He was elected to the State Assembly from Baliguda constituency three times in 1974, 1980 and 1995.
As the news of his demise broke, a pall gloom descended on his native village Sudra. Political leaders and fellow citizens thronged his residence to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
