Mumbai: Ranu Mondal, who used to sing at a railway station in West Bengal, is now a celebrity thanks to the wonders of social media.
Ranu has already recorded two songs with the country’s renowned music director Himesh Reshammiya which has further boosted her stardom. People from all over the country are giving tremendous support to her voice and giving her thumbs up.
Following Ranu’s road to stardom, social media seems to be flooded with videos featuring ordinary citizens singing beautiful songs.
One such video, currently going viral on Facebook, features a man singing legendary vocalist Kishore Kumar’s super hit song ‘O Mere Dil Ke Chain’. The man’s ragged persona gives the impression that he might be fighting poverty.
The video was shared Tuesday on a Facebook page called ‘My Rules My Life’. The clip has already been watched by more than 1,74,000 viewers and shared 1,738 times. The comments section under the video has exploded with nearly 6,000 people sharing their views and requesting that this talented singer be given a chance to sing on a bigger platform.
