Bhubaneswar: Capital police arrested a man for attempting a rape bid on one of the two sisters sitting on a demonstration at Lower PMG Square here Sunday night. The police have identified the accused as Kalu Nayak.
According to police sources, two sisters from Lamtaput area in Koraput district had been on a strike over some demands at Lower PMG Square. Kalu entered the tent inside which the sisters were sleeping Sunday late night.
Kalu misbehaved with both the sisters. When he tried to force himself on one of the sisters, the other managed to go outside and inform the policemen on duty. Kalu was then nabbed.
Rape attempt on a woman, that too in the heart of the state capital, has raised questions regarding the efficiency of the police.
