Bijepur: Local police recovered the body of a young man from a dumping yard near Baunshapola area under Bijepur NAC in Bargarh district Tuesday.
Police have identified the deceased as Taranisen Mahala – a resident of Nuanpali village under Gaisilet police limits.
According to a source, the deceased has a grievous injury on his head. Police suspect it to be a case of murder and have launched an investigation from that angle.
Mahala’s body was recovered after some of the NAC workers engaged in garbage lifting first spotted it in the dumping yard while they had gone there to dump garbage. They then immediately informed the police who recovered the body and sent it to Bargarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) for postmortem.
Meanwhile, the police have detained a suspect in connection with the incident for interrogation.
