Bhawanipatna: Cracking down against labour traffickers, police arrested 15 middlemen Saturday following raids conducted at different police limits of Kalahandi district.
A special joint operation comprising was carried out by the Sadar police limits of Bhawanipatna, Dharamgarh, Jaipatna, Koksara, Golamunda, Junagarh, and Kegaon to nab the miscreants. Raids were carried out simultaneously in various locations from where the middlemen were apprehended.
Seven persons were nabbed in Kegaon, two from Kesinga and six more were arrested from Bhawanipatna, Dharamgarh, Jaipatna, Koksara, Golamunda and Junagarh in Kalahandi district.
Cases under relevant sections under IPC have been lodged against all the accused persons and they are being probed further.
It should be stated here that October 18 raids were conducted in Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi districts. Fifteen persons were nabbed in Rayagada, 21 in Nabarangpur and 14 from Kalahandi district.
