Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: Pramila Kirsani won a gold medal in the junior 53kg event of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Champion-ships at Pune, Monday.
Pramila lifted a total of 189kg, including 80kg in snatch and 109kg in clean & jerk to secure the first position. However she finished second in the senior 53 kg category.

Riding on a brace by Sailseh Mohanty, Mukteswar Club spanked Xavier’s 4-0 in a Group B match of the Gati Krushna Memorial football league at the Unit-I Boys’ HS Ground here Monday.
Kedar Nath Samal opened the account for the winning team in the 17th minute and they maintained the solitary-goal lead till the lemon break.
After the change of ends, Mukteswar players adopted aggressive measures and scored three more goals. Sailesh Mohanty struck in quick succession in the 62nd and 66th minutes respectively and then Somesh Mohanty rounded off the tally in the 69th minute to finish the rout.

Appointments approved
To counsel the players a psychiatrist will be appointed at the Cuttack SAI Centre and Jagatpur Rowing Centre very soon. Security guards will also be appointed in both the centres to keep a watch on the inmates.
“We had written a letter about the requirement of security staff and a psychiatrist to the SAI headquarters in New Delhi. It has been approved by them. The appointments will be done soon,” stated SAI, Cuttack director, Manoj Kumar Bhadra.
