Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: Fans of eminent Oriya writer Manoj Das can now easily access his writings through a newly launched app titled ‘Rainbow-Picks from Manoj Das’. The app is the first of its kind on any Oriya writer launched so far.
The brand new app gives access to Das’s writings on a daily basis. Every day the app will be updated with new passages from various writings of the author – from his short stories, novels, reminiscences, travelogues, newspaper columns, essays and writings for children. The app can be downloaded from Google Playstore for free.
The home page of the application says, “Why do thousands of readers find the writings of Manoj Das a class by itself – be it a story or a novel or a poem or an essay or a travelogue or reminiscences? How is it that if for some readers his words bring a feeling of quiet joy, for some others they bring a serene solace or a faith in the inner values of life?”
It is also mentioned below that Das is “an inspired writer, a child of the Divine Saraswati. His words lift our vitality, gently stir our intelligence and expand our vision of reality – rather many layers of reality.”
A large number of the author’s fans have already liked the app and have given five stars. They also posted their appreciation: “Indeed it is a great app for Manoj Das lovers. We now can have our favourite writer all the time and exchange comments even on the go. Thanks to efforts put in by the entire team who struck upon the idea of making such an app,” said Shyam Sundar Sahu, a Manoj Das fan.
Another fan Nirvay Padhy said the app is very ideal for lovers of literature and seekers of truth.
Many youngsters in the city have installed the app in their smartphones. “Such an app we had been eagerly waiting for. It will surely give us easy access to the literary world of our esteemed author Manoj Das. As he has earned popularity in the field of Indian English fiction, this app will be helpful for all students of English literature written in India,” said Soumya Ranjan, student.
