Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: Chinmay Pradhan of Orissa finished runner-up Saturday in the AITA 50k Men’s ranking tennis tournament after losing the final against Nitin Kirtane at Pune, Saturday. The Orissa lad went down 2-6, 2-6. However, it must be said that Chinmay played with a swollen ankle.
Orissa face Bihar
Orissa entered the semifinals of the National Junior U-19 Women’s Football Championships after pipping Delhi 1-0 in their last Group B quarter league match at Goa, Saturday.The eves topped their pool winning all the three games. They will meet Bihar in the semifinal Monday. Skipper Anima Mallick got the winning goal for Orissa.
Mukteswar maul Mahindra
Riding on a brace by Sailesh Mohanty, Mukteswar Sporting thrashed Tech Mahindra 4-0 in a Group B match of the Gati Krushna Memorial Football League at the Unit-I Boys’ HS Ground here Saturday.
Mukteswar dominated the match completely and did not give the opposition an inch. Sailesh struck in the 15th and 33rd minutes while the other goals were scored by Pradyumna Pradhan and Vishal Dev in the 63rd and 68th minutes respectively.

National rugby player Chittaranjan Murmu of KISS has managed to land a job with the Army. Henceforth he will not represent the state anymore and play for Services in all national level tournaments.
