Jajpur: Local police recovered the body of a minor girl from Brahmani river near Rudrapur area in Jajpur district Friday. The girl had been missing since August 17. She has been identified as Sabitri, 17, of Kakudikuda village in Jajpur district. Her family members had earlier filed a complaint with Jajpur police station, saying that she had gone missing. They had alleged that she had been kidnapped.

Some local people, who went to the river for taking a bath Friday, spotted the body in water. They informed the Jajpur police station and her body was fished out. Family members of Sabitri identified her body Friday morning.
Jajpur police launched an investigation into the case and sent the body for post-mortem, police said.
