Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Friday announced the dates to conduct annual higher secondary examination 2016. According to the plans, the examination will be started from March 2.
CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi told media persons that the theory examinations will begin from March 2 and will be ended March 29 while practical tests will be conducted from January 20 to January 30. The results are expected to be declared during the third week of May.
Notably, the Council has not taken any decision on the number of examination centres and hubs, but insiders say that the numbers will remain intact similar to that of to the last year. CHSE had created 203 examination hubs and 1,092 examination centre during the Board examination last year.
The examination committee has also taken decision on implementing the online evaluation system. “As per the decision of the higher education department, we have decided to implement e-Valuation in all the subjects of Science and Commerce streams from this academic year,” said Chhatoi.
It was also decided not to have any second sitting for the annual examination this year also. “There will be one sitting that will be from 10am to 1pm, similar to the last year’s practice. A few other guidelines will remain the same for the examination this year,” said the chairman.
The Council is also planning to shift the centre for e-Valuation from Naba Krushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NKCDS) to the Council’s own office. The infrastructure will be created as per the requirement, stated Chhatoi.
Meanwhile, the form fill-up of regular candidates, who will appear in the annual examination of 2016, is in process from November 16. As per the latest data, about 1.71 lakh students have already filled up the forms out of 3.4 lakh registration. The last date for filling up form without fine is set at November 23.
