Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, a BSF jawan allegedly hacked his father to death at Madanpua village under Ramachandrapur police limits in Keonjhar Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Pramod Kumar Ojha (58) and the accused son as Ranjan Kumar Ojha (25). Ranjan also attacked his younger brother Basudev when he tried to intervene to save his father. Ranjan too suffered injuries in the process. The brothers-duo is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital.
According to a source, Ranjan, who was posted in Arunachal Pradesh, had come to his village on leave Sunday evening.Later, he picked up a quarrel with his father over some family issues.
The scene turned uglier when Ranjan lost his cool. He picked up a knife and hacked his father. Hearing his father’s cries, younger brother Basudev came to his rescue but ended up being attacked by Ranjan. Both the brothers suffered severe injuries during the incident.
Neighbours rushed the trio to Sainkul government hospital where Pramod succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Ranjan and Basudev were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
On being informed, police reached Sainkul government hospital and seized the body for post mortem and launched an investigation.
