Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: The Project Monitoring Group of Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI-PMG) Saturday reviewed 30 mega investment projects and lauded the state government for achieving remarkable progress in implementation of those projects. The project monitoring group (PMG) led by additional secretary of Cabinet Secretariat Arun Goel reviewed the progress of 30 mega projects which includes roads, railways, steel, mines, power and petroleum at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary AP Padhi here.
Most of the issues relating to land acquisition and forest diversion have been resolved and the projects are now in grounding stage, sources said. “Over time, many issues (related to projects) have been resolved. Due to timely action of the state government, a lot of progress has been made at ground level,” Goel said. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary said that the problems flagged up by project proponents were addressed by various government agencies.
Major projects which were reviewed in the meeting include Sambalpur- Titilagarh Railway line, Jharsuguda-Baripada-Subdega Railway, Angul-Jharsuguda Railway, Bhubaneswar-Puri toll road, 6-laning of Bhubaneswar-Chandikhol NH, laying of LPG pipe line from Paradeep to Haldia, Paradeep-Raipur-Ranchi pipe line and power projects of Nagpatnam NSL and Visa Power among others.
In the meeting, Padhi requested the Cabinet Committee to expedite the forest clearance proposals of Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC). IOCL was requested to facilitate more LPG connections for the state, especially for rural pockets, sources added.
