Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia television actor and play director Jimutbahan Patnaik who featured in over hundreds of Odia television serials passed away Saturday night. He was 63.
Sources said, the actor had developed COVID-19 symptoms while shooting for a TV serial. For this he was taken to a healthcare facility for a COVID-19 test.
His report had come positive following which he had been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Patnaik was an employee of the Odisha Police Housing Board. He had become popular after portraying various characters in several mega TV serials. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Earlier September 13 veteran actor Ajit Das of the Odia film industry succumbed to COVID-19. Das had reportedly tested positive for the novel coronavirus September 1.
The actor had been admitted to a COVID Hospital after he was tested positive.
