Keonjhar: Taking law into their own hands, some irate villagers tied a youth to a concrete pillar of their local clubhouse building Sunday morning for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl of the village in Keonjhar district.

They also thrashed the youth mercilessly.
A video of the incident in which villagers are seen using profanities and beating the youth has gone viral on social media.
According to sources, the incident took place at Kimirdaposi village under Turumunga police limits in the district. The rape survivor was on her way to a neighbour’s house Saturday evening. The accused youth allegedly covered her mouth and raped her at an isolated area.
As the minor girl did not return home for a long time, her worried family members searched for her throughout the village. After she was traced, the victim narrated about her plight to her parents.
