Bhubaneswar, March 5: Paramount Sporting cruised into the final of the Pushpalata Garabadu Memorial Masters T20 cricket tournament with a convincing 39-run win over Saheed Sporting in the second semifinal here Saturday. They will meet Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) in the final, Sunday.
Thanks to blistering knocks from man of the match Amaresh Mohanty (84, 55b) and Gyana Ranjan Sahoo (58, 50b), Paramount notched up a challenging total of 169 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Chandan Mohanty (4/27) led the bowling attack for the opposition including a
hat-trick.
In reply, Saheed Sporting could manage only 130 in 18.5 overs getting all out in the process with Nandan Mohanty (43) emerging as the highest scorer. Gyana Ranjan Sahu (3/23) and Sarat Sahu (3/25) bowled well for Paramount.
Huge victory for BBSR-B
Bhubaneswar-B scripted a thumping innings and 188 runs victory over hapless Koraput in a Group-B match of the Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament at the Sunshine Ground in Cuttack, Saturday.
After conceding a mammoth first innings lead of 268 runs, Koraput faced a batting debacle in their second essay again and were skittled out for a paltry 80. Manoj Barik (5/32) turned out to be the wrecker-in-chief for Bhubaneswar-B.
