Bhubaneswar, March 8: Local side Yazdani Club-73 stormed into the semifinals of the Tata Utkalika Cup football tournament by scripting a 3-0 win over Mohun Bagan juniors, in the quarterfinals at the Unit-VI High School Ground here Tuesday.
Somnath Nayak opened the scoring for the winning side in the 40th minute while Sk Zahid netted twice, the first a field goal in the 63rd and then a penalty in the 74th minute. It was a game the winners dominated in both the seasons and Mohun Bagan were always playing the chasing game.

Bhubaneswar sailed into the final of the All India DS Cup women’s football tournament by clinching a nail-biting semifinal Tuesday against Sundargarh at the Court Ground in Boudh.
The score was level till the end of 90 minutes after which the shoot-out was implemented. In the normal shoot-out, both the sides converted all their five shots each to take the game to the sudden death.
In the sudden death shoot-out Bhubaneswar, converted the first of their spot-kicks while Sundargarh missed their attempt to bow out of the tournament.
Bhubaneswar will face Sambalpur in the final Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Oriya footballer Supriya Routray who led the Indian side in the South Asian Games women’s football championship and Pyaari Xaxa were felicitated by the Boudh Football Association on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
