Kendrapara: A Class IV girl student of a government-run primary school was allegedly raped twice by a youth, said IIC of Marshaghai police station Sukanta Kumar Patra Tuesday.
The minor girl’s father lodged an FIR Tuesday alleging Baguli Behera, a speech impaired youth, raped his daughter after gagging her while she was on her way to a community feast at Samantasingharpur village April 7. The youth threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter, the complainant said, adding the youth again raped his daughter after forcibly taking her from a village road April 9.
The matter came to fore after the girl narrated her ordeal before her parents, Patra said. The family members took her to a nearby hospital before lodging an FIR at Marshaghai police station.
Police registered a case and arrested the accused. The victim and the accused were Tuesday sent for medical test to the district headquarters hospital.
Baguli booked under various sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act is going to be produced in a local court Wednesday, said Ramesh Chandra Mohanty, additional superintendent of police of Kendrapara.
Meanwhile, Marshaghai police have taken the aide of speech-impaired experts to assist them during the interrogation of the accused, said the IIC. PNN
