Court sentences man to 20-years imprisonment for raping minor

Balasore: A court in Balasore district sentenced a man to 20-years imprisonment for raping a minor girl.

Additional District and Sessions Judge of Balasore, Jagdish Prasad Mohanty while pronouncing the judgment Friday also slapped a fine of Rs 38,000 on the convict.

According to the prosecution, May 17, 2019, convict Ananta Kumar Das (26) of Baliapal entered the house of the victim when she was alone and took her out promising to marry her in the temple.

Instead, he took her to a secluded place and raped her.
