Balasore: A third-year student of MBBS in Fakir Mohan Medical College here was found dead early Saturday morning, police said.
The student, Hitenshu Das (22), was found dead in the basement of the academic building by some students in the early hours.
According to Industrial police, under whose jurisdiction the incident occurred, a case has been registered and investigation started.
Preliminary inquiry suggest the student might have committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the academic building, However and autopsy report is awaited, said police.
The deceased student was from Bhimpur village near Balasore.
