Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: Oishii, which commits to provide their customers with a proper and nutrition-balanced diet, has opened their inaugural kitchen at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar Tuesday. An initiative by Aashita Foodtech Private Limited, Oishii came up with the concept of delivering packed food made with low oil and fat.
“The whole idea is to create a sustainable model of providing a balanced diet to our consumers at a cost effective way,” said Sarbeswar Swain, the director of Oishii. ‘Oishii’ was cofounded by a young team of Bhama Ramanan, Aditya Priyadarshan, Sarbeshwar Swain, Abhijeet and Sagar.
“Apart from the generic balanced diet, we are also focusing to make food for people with specific needs like diabetic patients, heart patients, people with hypertension issue and pregnant women,” said Swain.
Oishii was first established in New Delhi and Patna. “Our main motto is to create a healthy India by providing hygienic food,” he added.
10 people have been employed as cooks, while others will be responsible for the delivery.
Customers can register and order what they wish to eat at their website. The service will be provided between Chandrasekharpur and Jaydev Vihar in the initial days.
“Oishii is not a restaurant. People can order their food through our website and we will deliver it within minimal time. We are planning to gradually extend the delivery area,” he said.
When asked about the reason behind its name, Swain said that Oishii was a Japanese word that meant ‘more than delicious’ and it rhymed with Orissa.
“Ours kitchen will provide food throughout the day and the minimum charge is `100,” said Swain.
The owner said that food at Oishii would be made after consultation with doctors and dieticians.
“We have collaborated with doctors of Apollo and Aditya Care hospitals. We are also planning to tie up various other hospitals,” informed Swain.
