Puri: A father-son duo from West Bengal drowned while bathing in the sea in Odisha’s Puri Wednesday, police said.
The deceased tourists have been identified as 50-year-old Ranjan Das and his 16-year-old son Reshuv Das, Puri Superintendent of Police Kanwar Vishal Singh said, adding they hailed from West Bengal’s Howrah district.
They had ventured into the deep sea and were swept by strong currents, he said.
They were brought out of the waters and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
One person, who was with them, was rescued and admitted to a hospital, he added.
