How will you react if you get stuck at an airport for 18 long hours due to a flight delay? Obviously, it’s frustrating.
However, a man in the US had the best time of his life after bearing the 18-hour wait at the airport.
Phil Stringer was returning from Oklahoma City to Charlotte, North Carolina Sunday. His flight, however, was delayed by 18 hours. Everyone had either booked another form of transportation or cancelled their travel plans for the day by the time the aeroplane finally took off.
But as they say, perseverance can take you to new ‘heights’. That’s happened with Phil as he got an entire plane to travel as the only flyer.
According to the New York Post, Phil received a complimentary first-class ticket and a private party with the crew as compensation for the inconvenience.
The lone traveller told Insider that he felt horrible for forcing the American Airlines staff to show up only for him, but the flight attendants laughed it off and quickly turned it into a “private party” in the sky.

“I went to the gate and there was no one there.” ‘Did you guys already board everyone?’ Phil asked. ‘No, honey, you’re the only passenger,’ said an air hostess.
It’s not that Phil didn’t try his luck with other planes to his destination, However, it was all in vain.
“They (flight attendants) were kind of teasing me, saying things like, ‘Really, bro, you couldn’t have left a few hours later?'” he said.
“I believe that your attitude determines your destination. Yeah, it was a sucky day. No one wants to stay in the airport for 18 hours, but if you have a positive view, you can turn something into a lot of fun,” Phil added.
