Cuttack: Police Sunday recovered the decomposed body of a doctor from a house, closed from inside, in the Chauliaganj area of Odisha’s Cuttack, said a source.
Police identified the deceased as M Venkat Chandrasekhar.
The doctor, posted at the Salipur CHC, was staying in a rented house at Chauliaganj. Police broke open the house and recovered the body after they were informed about a foul smell emanating from the house, the source added.
Though the reason of the doctor’s death is not yet to be ascertained it is suspected that he might have died following a cardiac arrest, the source said.
The cause of the death would be known only after the post-mortem.
A police investigation into the matter is underway.
