Anandapur: Police arrested a man for allegedly attacking his wife and a police team at Fakirpur near Anandapur in Keonjhar district Friday night.
The accused was identified as Sharat Chandra Muduli of Fakirpur village. Sharat is a BSF jawan.
As per sources, a quarrel between Sharat and his wife Snehalata Barik took an ugly turn when the former assaulted the latter Friday night.
Snehalata dialed 112 following which the PCR van reached the spot. Meanwhile, the jawan and his family members attacked the police team.
When a team of Anandapur police reached the spot for their rescue, they were also beaten up and their uniforms torn by the jawan and his kin.
Sharat was arrested and produced before the court Saturday. He has been sent to judicial custody after his bail application was rejected.
