Nabarangpur: A bunch of thieves broke into Nabarangpur Collector’s office and stole many electronic items, a source said Monday.
The thieves decamped with four monitors, two CPUs along with a printer from the election sub-division room and Deputy Collector’s room located on the ground floor of the Collector’s office premises.
According to the source, the miscreants were able to break open the lock of an iron grill and entered the office premises as the office was closed Sunday.
Staff of the office noticed the theft Monday and informed Nabarangpur town police station. Later, cops along with a scientific team and sniffer dogs reached the spot and launched an investigation.
The heist has become the talk of the town as the thieves did not hesitate to commit the crime in a well-guarded area such as the Collector’s office.
