Bhubaneswar: In a significant step, 73 bicycles were distributed by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to Swachha Sathis at Niladri Vihar Wealth Centre. Bhubaneswar-North MLA Susant Rout and Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das in the presence of Standing Committee chairpersons, Additional Commissioner, Corporators, distributed the cycles under the ‘Urban Mobility Infrastructure Scheme’.
BMC has already distributed 557 cycles so far. The remaining 115 Swachha Sathis of 672 will be distributed cycles in the coming days. The civic body is taking care of Swachha Sathis in many aspects by providing them with healthcare benefits, health insurance of Rs 2 lakh, uniforms, PPE kit for their safety, arranging Bada Khana for them, and cycles for their convenience.
