Nabarangpur: A couple suffered serious injuries Wednesday after their bike was hit by a tractor near Chakachapar village under this police limits and district. The injured were identified as Sitakanta Tripathy and his wife Kaberi, residents of Bhagabati Sahi locality in this town. Eye witnesses said that Sitakanta and his wife were travelling to Sana Mosigaon village on their two-wheeler (No-OD 24- C-7447).
The front wheel of a tractor coming from the opposite side broke off and the vehicle rammed into the bike flinging both the occupants on the road leaving them critically injured. Locals rushed to the spot and rushed the two to the district headquarters hospital here. Later in the day, as the condition of Sitakanta deteriorated, he was shifted to a private nursing home in Visakhapatnam. The condition of his wife Kaberi is stable, doctors at the DHH here informed.
