Balasore: A man was seen carrying his ailing wife in his arms to the medicine ward of the district headquarters hospital Tuesday after he failed to find a stretcher. The incident drew a lot of attention at the hospital.
According to reports, Mamata Patra hailing from Banaghatia under Rasgoinbindapur block in Mayurbhanj fell ill. Her husband Deepak Patra took her to the Balasore district headquarters hospital where doctors at the outdoor ward advised him to take her to the medicine ward. But no stretcher was made available to Deepak. He had no other way but to carry his wife in his arms and take her to the medicine ward, much to the consternation of those present in the area.
CDMO Vivekananda Das said he had no information about the incident. He said steps will be taken after an investigation. PNN
