Bargaon: In a horrific incident, a Plus II first year girl student of Bargaon-based Samiti College in Sundargarh district was reportedly kidnapped from her college by four students of the same college and subsequently was raped by one of them, while the others video-graphed the act.
The matter came to fore after the girl lodged a complaint with the local police. Police registered a case and arrested the four accused. According to sources, the victim had gone to college. After her classes, she was standing beside the college when the four confronted her. Before she could understand anything, they forcibly took her to a cashew orchard located nearby. Then, two of them held her limbs while one of the accused outraged her modesty while the fourth person recorded the whole act on a mobile phone.
On being informed, the police called the accused to the police station. Meanwhile, the girl, out of fear, changed her statements and claimed that the accused had made lewd comments at her and didn’t rape her. On the other hand, the victim’s elder sister stood by her and encouraged her to lodge a written complaint.
The girl confessed that she changed her statements as the accused had threatened to circulate the obscene video. A case was registered and the four accused were arrested from their houses Monday night. Rajgangpur SDPO Bijay Kumar Nayak investigated the case.
