Many people die due to the unavailability of ambulances, and at times, ambulances cannot reach villages because of a lack of proper roads. Often, videos go viral showing patients being carried on bikes.

A similar video has now surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Mohabbatpur Jeeta village of Kaushambi district, where the family members carried the dead body of a woman to the cremation ground on a bike due to the non-availability of a vehicle.

Samajwadi Party president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also reacted to the incident and shared the video on his X handle. Launching a sharp attack on the Uttar Pradesh government, Yadav said, “What could be more shameful than this? There is nothing more to say to either the Chief Minister or the Health Minister.”

Following the incident, the police conducted a post-mortem and handed over the body to her family. The case is currently under investigation.

The deceased woman’s husband, Changulal, and son, Dharmendra, work in private jobs in Ghaziabad. At the time of the incident, the family had no access to a hearse, forcing them to take the drastic step of transporting the body on a motorcycle, NDTV reported.

District Magistrate Madhusudan Hulgi informed that concerned officials have been instructed to submit a detailed report on the entire incident at the earliest, following which further action, if any, would be taken.
