New Delhi: In order to be a good lawyer one should empathize with the society he or she lives in, suggested outgoing Chief Justice of India Jagdish Singh Khehar while delivering the keynote address at the fifth convocation of the National Law University (NLU) here recently.
Khehar in his address as the chief guest called upon the graduating students that although “India is free, it is yet to taste the true glory of freedom.” Reminding the audience of the lawyers’ duty to uphold the Constitution, Khehar said freedom without responsibility will lead to anarchy.
NLU Vice Chancellor Ranbir Singh complimented the faculty and students for their academic contribution. As many as 25 gold medals and five cash prizes were awarded to the meritorious students. Notably, CV Aradhana was awarded 11 gold medals and one cash prize on the occasion.
