Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) here Monday carried out an encroachment eviction drive on its land at Ghatikia under the Bharatpur police station limits.
As per reports, the eviction was undertaken following a requisition from the Officer on Special Duty (Land), BDA, vide Letter No. 781/BDA dated January 12, 2026, and targeted unauthorised structures adjacent to BDA Plot No. K-8/999 in Mouza Ghatikia.
During the partially executed drive, enforcement teams demolished seven ACC shed rooms and removed approximately 100 metres of fencing wire.

As a result, around 2,630 square feet of valuable BDA land was reclaimed from illegal encroachment. One JCB machine was deployed for the operation by the BDA.
The drive was led by Debaraj Sethi, OSD (Enforcement), BDA, with support from Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty, Liaison Officer, BDA.
Police assistance was provided by Havildar Kanhu Charan Bhimram of Bharatpur police station.
Along with Enforcement Squads No. 3 and 4, three sections of police, including a section of lady police, were also deployed at the spot.
Officials stated that while the eviction was carried out partially Monday, the remaining encroached portions in the area would be cleared in subsequent phases as per the programme.
