Nayagarh: At least five people, including the driver, were killed after a tourist bus overturned near Takera on National Highway-57 under Banigochha police limits in Daspalla block of Nayagarh district.
The deceased were identified as a couple from Berhampur, L. Haripatra and Laxmi Patra, along with Sumati Sahu, Suprabha Sahu, and the driver, Praveen Kumar Sahu of Kulad village in Ganjam district.
More than 20 passengers were injured and are undergoing treatment at Daspalla and Nayagarh district headquarters hospitals.
The bus, named “Anil,” was travelling from Berhampur to Harishankar at the time of the accident.
