Bhubaneswar: The 3rd edition of the four-day Bhubaneswar Film Festival came to a grand conclusion at Jayadev Bhawan Sunday, reaffirming its commitment to showcasing the richness and diversity of Indian regional cinema.
The festival’s final day opened with the Assamese film Juiphool, followed by the Odia films Lal Odhani and Aa Akare Aa, before concluding the screening schedule with the acclaimed Malayalam film Ullozhukku.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the screening of the Odia classic Amada Bata was replaced by another celebrated Odia film, Bhai Bhauja, on the festival’s closing day.
Adding an academic and professional dimension to the festival, a special masterclass on Costume and Production Design was conducted at Geeta Gobinda Sadan by renowned designers Divvya Gambhir, Nidhhi Gambhir, and Sukant Panigrahy.
The session offered aspiring filmmakers, students, and cinema enthusiasts valuable insights into the creative process behind visual storytelling, costume design, and production aesthetics.

Held from June 25 to 28, the festival featured an impressive selection of feature fi lms, documentaries, and classics from across India, along with interactive sessions and discussions with film personalities.
The event attracted filmmakers, students, artists, and cinema lovers, further strengthening Bhubaneswar’s growing reputation as an emerging destination for meaningful cinematic and cultural dialogue.
With its successful third edition, the Bhubaneswar Film Festival has once again highlighted the power of regional storytelling while fostering appreciation for diverse cinematic traditions and creative collaborations.
