Puri: The Holy Trinity, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, will return to the Jagannath Temple on Friday during the Bahuda Yatra after concluding their stay at the Gundicha Temple.
The three chariots have been positioned in front of the Nakachana Gate of the Gundicha Temple, while servitors are ready to perform the rituals and devotees eagerly await the opportunity to pull the chariots.
According to the ritual schedule issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Mangala Alati will begin at 4 am, followed by other rituals. Pahandi (ceremonial procession of the deities) is scheduled from 12 noon to 2:30 pm. The Chhera Pahanra ritual will be performed from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, while Charamala fitting and horse attachment to the chariots will take place between 3 pm and 4 pm. Chariot pulling will commence at 4 pm, followed by other rituals on the chariots.
However, servitors said the rituals are likely to begin well ahead of the official schedule fixed by the administration.
To manage the expected crowd, the administration has made special traffic arrangements. Around 220 platoons of police, comprising nearly 12,000 personnel, along with Central Armed Police Forces, will be deployed to maintain security and ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
