Bhubaneswar: As part of its continued efforts to deepen industrial partnerships and attract high-value investments, a high-level delegation of the state government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is scheduled to undertake a two-day investment outreach programme in New Delhi from August 7, official sources said Wednesday.
The delegation, which includes Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, will engage with leading industrial houses, MSMEs, downstream enterprises and business associations with an aim to attract investments, the sources said.
A key highlight of the outreach will be Odisha Food Pro 2026, an event being organised August 7 by the state government in association with ASSOCHAM.
“The sector-focused roadshow will bring together leading food processing companies, investors, MSMEs, industry associations and sectoral experts to showcase Odisha’s diverse agricultural and marine resource base, processing ecosystem, logistics connectivity, policy framework and investment opportunities across the farm-to-market value chain,” the sources said.
Beyond food processing, the New Delhi outreach will focus on developing deeper industrial value chains around Odisha’s major anchor investments.
On the first day, the state leadership will hold one-on-one interactions with industry leaders and focus group meetings with major industrial groups and their ecosystem partners as part of its investment outreach efforts.
“Discussions will cover opportunities in stainless steel downstream manufacturing, chemicals and petrochemicals, while also reviewing the progress of existing and proposed investments in Odisha.
Particular emphasis will be placed on identifying implementable projects, strengthening local supplier networks and accelerating the grounding of announced investments,” the sources added.
On the second day, the delegation will visit a manufacturing facility in Greater Noida to gain insights into advanced manufacturing practices and explore potential areas of industrial collaboration in white goods and consumer appliances.
The delegation will thereafter participate in three focused industry roundtables in Greater Noida.
The first will bring together leading aluminium downstream companies to explore opportunities for greater value addition in aluminium products, components and engineering applications.
The second will engage textile and apparel companies, showcasing opportunities arising from Odisha’s expanding textiles, apparel and technical textiles ecosystem, supported by a growing skilled workforce, industrial infrastructure and policy support.
The third roundtable, organised with the Indian Industries Association, will engage engineering manufacturers and MSMEs to explore opportunities arising from Odisha’s large metals, mining, power and manufacturing base.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Industries Department Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma said, “Odisha’s next phase of industrialisation will be driven by deeper value addition around the strengths we have already established.”
“Our objective through this outreach is clear – secure credible investment proposals, accelerate existing commitments and convert discussions into projects on the ground,” he said.
