Bhubaneswar: The Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture (OLLC) launched the ‘Ama Kalakara’ website to streamline the engagement of cultural groups and promote the state’s art and culture.
The website, available at amakalakara.odisha.gov.in, was launched by Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy.
The initiative aims to simplify the workflow involved in engaging cultural groups for performances and introduce greater transparency into their selection and deployment.
The platform will also facilitate monitoring through mobile-based geo-tagging and help establish a more systematic mechanism for implementing cultural programmes.
Through the website, work orders can be issued to cultural groups for performances, while their deployment process can be monitored digitally.
The department said the system would ensure greater transparency in the engagement and execution of cultural programmes.
The platform also links artistes’ Aadhaar details, which is expected to prevent misuse through repeated engagements and ensure that only eligible artistes are selected for assignments.
